Christine Yocum, owner and cookie designer, combines her passion for baking and painting to create what she would regard as “edible works of art.” Each cookie collection starts off with research and inspiration, which render rough sketches. Those sketches are then translated into a paint-able version. (Sometimes a design’s level of detail and its intensity of labor may prevent it from making the final collection.) Each cookie can take up to fifteen minutes to produce which, when calculated, could take up to three hours to complete one dozen cookies.  Yocum points out that the use of stencils or air-brushes are out of the question. “We only use fine liners and other small brushes to paint our cookies.” When asked about painting large orders, she states that whether an order consists of five dozen or 500 cookies, each cookie will be meticulously hand-painted.

But get her talking about their taste, and her baker’s conviction is apparent. “First and foremost, we are committed to making a great-tasting cookie—without preservatives. The ingredients we use are those that could be found in almost anyone’s home pantry.”  Knowing that their clients value choice, Art & Style Baking cookies are available in seven different flavors.  Regular customers have their favorites and rarely budge when it comes to trying a new one.  Popular flavors include butter, lemon and chocolate orange.

What is the feedback they get from their customers? "What we hear most is 'they are almost too pretty to eat' but once they take a bite, they are too tasty not to."Yocum admits, “Our cookies are definitely a luxury item and are perfect for holidays and life’s special moments when lavishing your guests with something tasty and distinctive is priority number one.”
